Take a Brew Donkey Tour!

Tourist guides for Ottawa often neglect to mention that our city has more than 35 craft breweries and brew pubs, if we're counting both within the city and under an hour’s drive away. The most enjoyable (and most responsible) way to taste all the beer that our city has to offer is through our friendly neighbours at Brew Donkey. When you book a tour, Brew Donkey’s bus takes you directly to three regional breweries where you will sample local brews, OR to two breweries followed by a different activity off the beaten path—such as axe throwing, roller derby, or… one of our escape rooms. Visit the Museum of Nature after Hours!

We’ve broken into the Museum of Nature after hours for our Heist and Framed escape events, but did you know that once a month the Museum of Nature becomes an adult-only dance club with award-winning live music and interactive art? This year Canadian Geographic’s team offered tips for taking selfies, Cheeky.bio taught participants how to make bio art using their own cheek cells, and the museum served craft beer brewed in partnership with Beau’s All Natural Brewing Company and award-winning hip hop artist k-os. Season 5 of Nature Nocturne just wrapped up on Canada Day, but mark your calendars for Season 6 of Nature Nocturne to return in the fall.

Experience an “Underground Journey Through Time!”

Interested in “descending deep underground to discover an unseen dimension of Ottawa?” That’s how Montreal’s Moment Factory is billing Kontinuum: the first ever sound and light show held at an underground LRT station. Kontinuum is a free event that starts later this month on July 16 and runs until September 14th at the currently-under-construction station entrance at Queen and Lyon. Tickets are available on the Ottawa 2017 website.

At 8:00am on September 10th, Escape Manor will be partnering with Ottawa 2017 to break the record for the World’s Largest Scavenger Hunt. The Scavenger Hunt begins at Marion Dewar Plaza and spans the Byward Market, Parlaiment Hill, The Glebe, and Hintonburg. Teams will race against time to collect photos of sculptures, wildlife, food and compete in challenges for points and prizes. Are you ready to set a world record?
